Camping in Missouri/Kansas?

My boyfriend and i are going to be staying with a relative in Kansas City then having a look to head camping out. Any recomendations? We've a tent and would like a specific thing with toilets and showers but now not a great deal else. Water nearby for tubing or kayaking.
