I just bought a Bending Branches fiberglass kayak paddle and was wondering about the brand because I had never heard of it.

Wonderful! Kayak paddles are like automobiles, there are models for every use and by every skill level paddler. Buyers need to match their paddle choice with their ability, kayak activity, and their pocketbook. A skilled paddler can do more with an inexpensive Mohawk than a beginner with a carbon fiber super blade. You have a good paddle, I hope it was correctly sized and 'handed'.
